From additions to improvements to overall reconstruction, BME's street and highway expertise comes with a creative flair as well,
incorporating streetscape and landscape elements when possible. See a

Town of Burns, WY Completion Date: October, 2004
Three factors triggered a need for general
road improvement for Burns, Wyoming: Increase in population, rising traffic volumes and the foresight of increased truck traffic through
town as a result of nearby WYDOT reconstruction. BME maximized the town's investment by identifying other opportunities to enhance the
overall aesthetic value of the community.
By upgrading a rural roadway into an urban area and incorporating streetscaping throughout the entire site, BenchMark Engineers created
a more utilitarian and ADA-compliant park in place of an existing oversized median. They also added a safety feature by increasing the
sight distance surrounding a masonry wall and enhanced the overall appearance of the neighboring residential sections.

Central Avenue, Cheyenne, WY Completion Date: May, 2003
In addition to resolving the primary issue of motorist safety and traffic efficiency, BME also vastly improved the safety
of pedestrians and cyclists, resulting in a highly functional, multi-use interchange that is also aesthetic and environmentally compliant.
Due to unique circumstances of the location and client/end-user sensitivity, this project required more thoughtful planning and
coordination than any other project designed by BenchMark Engineers.
In spite of the technical challenges of this four-phase, $7.9M project, it was still completed in twelve months, and the final
cost was within 2% of the original estimate of $8.13M--nearly $300,000 under budget.

Omaha Road, Cheyenne, WY Completion Date: September, 2000
BenchMark Engineers improved the overall safety of this area by widening the roadway and grading a large hill
to increase sight distance. By resolving water runoff problems and adding landscape features, they were able to address both the
function and form of Omaha Road, simultaneously meeting the needs of the client while adding value for neighboring properties.
From a fiscal perspective, BME also exceeded expectations: Their total project cost estimate was 2% within budget, the
engineering expense was under budget, and the construction was under budget and completed on time.
