Safeway, Cheyenne, WY
Completion Date: October, 2002

BenchMark Engineers was challenged to upgrade the image and overall appearance of an outdated area of town with the design of an anchor-based center. In addition to upgrading the roads and infrastructure of the site and surrounding area, BME designed an attractive, landscaped "buffer" between the client and neighboring properties.

By adding a retaining wall and fence, and working together with both the client and residents for approved lighting solutions, BME exceeded the expectations of all constituents.

From an end user's perspective, this previous eyesore became a highly functional and convenient neighborhood center, making Safeway a south-side landmark of Cheyenne.

Loves Truck Stop, Cheyenne, WY
Completion Date: October, 2002

BenchMark Engineers met several unique challenges with this project, including an odd-sized and -shaped lot and a distance barrier to their water source in Cheyenne. Their design solution was to divide and direct truck and car traffic immediately upon entering the site, and directing them to a multi-level station at the back of the lot.

By running a one-mile sewer to tie into existing water and sewer facilities and drilling an additional well onsite, BME worked around the water access problem, and a large detention facility through an underground storm sewer managed both onsite and offsite runoff from I-25.

Completion Date: August, 2000

While the design and coordination elements of this project are relatively basic for a civil engineering job, the feasibility studies performed by BenchMark are not so average. In fact, the depth and breadth of this study and the easy-to-read organization of the data led Bencor to coin its format as a template for all future Walgreens sites throughout the U. S. From beginning to end, this project exceeded expectations of the client, sub-contractors and end users alike.
